How do you take a plot of land covered with grass and weeds and transform it into a nutrient rich growing site ready for planting? Biosolarization is a technique that leverages the natural heat from the sun along with the decomposition of organic materials to create a hostile environment for unwanted soil organisms, typically using a tarp or sheet of plastic.
Join SCG and Farmer Jason Hirtz of Box Turtle Farm for a two-part series on biosolarization and soil disease management using regenerative practices.
No registration is necessary for this in person event, however selecting 'Going' on the Facebook event is helpful for planning purposes. Please be sure to bring appropriate sun protection, a water bottle, and bug repellent if you desire. There is a porta potty on site but we recommend using restroom facilities prior to your arrival.
